Southwest Airlines is reversing its plan to put unvaccinated employees on unpaid leave. The original plan was to put workers on unpaid leave if they had not complied by a deadline in December.
This policy was for those waiting for exemptions to the mandate. Exemptions requested include medical and religious reasons.
The company wrote to employees informing them that if exemptions haven’t been approved they will still be allowed to work.
A spokesman for the airline confirmed the policy change, but did not provide additional details.
The company has said it will allow workers with denied exemption requests to continue working.
